The Hogeschool van Amsterdam (Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences) in the Amsteldorp neighbourhood is imposing and makes the surrounding buildings look a bit fragile. Hat tip to #SOSBRUTALISM for the source – they have more information here

I took the Metro to the station at Amsterdam Amstel one morning, leaving by the exit on the wrong side, being me. Also, being me, I hadn’t adjusted the time on the cameras.. I walked around, there’s a great set of buildings out there, but its not what I was looking for. Looking past the station, I saw the top of the building but didn’t notice it because it was overshadowed by the Rembrandt Tower (the tallest building in Amsterdam at one point). That shadow and the clouds had some impact on the light and therefore the shoot.
