Lots of firsts for this metro line in Amsterdam: North/South, built by boring the tunnels and also the first to go under the IJ. Nine stations, the two terminators being overground and the remaining seven stations underground. The deepest station, and for me, the most unusual is at De Pijp, where the north platform (16.5m below street level) is above the south platform (26.5m below street level). This made for some great shots up the escalators which weren’t too difficult to get due to the light usage at this time of day. I have to freely admit that the inspiration for visiting *every* platform at *every* station was due, in no small part, to the FUEL book Soviet Metro Stations – well worth a look.
